Electronics Assembler

Full-time | On-site, Oak Creek, WI

Menet Aero is a manufacturer of tethered unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). We are building a world-class aerospace manufacturing business with aggressive growth plans and are seeking a highly motivated electronics assembler.

The electronics assembler will be a part of a small but growing team focused on scaling up in a cutting-edge industry. This position requires an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to successfully work in a team environment. This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail to limit waste and ensure safety.

Menet Aero’s tethered unmanned aircraft systems support many highly intelligent payloads for a range of applications, including telecommunications, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and live broadcast video feed. Menet Aero systems are used by the U.S. military, law enforcement agencies, and in private industry by telecommunications and broadcast companies.

Reports to: Power & Embedded Systems Engineering Lead

Position Responsibilities

  • Manufacture UAS subassemblies using small hand and/or power tools and soldering
  • Integrate systems
  • Upload firmware and parameter files to program electronics
  • Waterproof small electronic components
  • Test and troubleshoot subassemblies and final assemblies
  • Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure that items built are to established, high-quality standards
  • QC incoming equipment from manufacturers
  • Provide input to systems designers and integrators to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and validate released assembly/ fabrication documentation
  • Assist in subcomponent and system troubleshooting
  • Execute repairs within skill level and escalate more complex issues to leadership and help as needed to accomplish repairs
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain a calm, cool, and collected mentality to ensure a positive, comfortable, and productive work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent or sufficient combination of education, training, and experience
  • Basic electronics coursework or schooling preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in either electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Understanding of basic circuitry, electronic components, and their functions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Experience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is required
  • Advanced soldering skills preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics preferred
  • Must have good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills
  • Must have strong communication skills to communicate effectively with other employees in the company
  • Familiar with RC equipment preferred

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office and assembly environment (constant)
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent)
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and objects of varying sizes and shapes for shipment to and setup in various training sites/customers (occasional)
  • Travel between office locations to pick up and drop off supplies or attend meetings (occasional)

Special Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
  • Must have a clean driving record to drive company vehicles or company-rented vehicles
