Peter Menet of Menet Aero Inc. will speak to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department on public, civil and recreational UAS operations. There are a lot of questions and misconceptions surrounding the use of UAS. Since I have experience in all three FAA-authorized UAS operations, I want to be a resource to the men and women who look out for the public's safety.
Menet has been asked to address UAS laws, what is required to use drones legally, and how officers can respond to illegal operations.
There is a huge opportunity to use UAS technology to enhance law enforcement operations, but the technology remains under utilized. In fact, out of the approximately 18,000 law enforcement agencies across the nation, fewer than 20 are using UAS operationally.
